today is the one year anniversary of my mother’s accident. most days now are a-okay, but there are times – like today – when it’s still overwhelming. i can’t imagine what the motorcyclist’s family is going through today.

i learned this morning that my uncle sonny ignored the signs and symptoms of cellulitis and upon arrival at his doctor’s office yesterday was informed that he was to go directly to the hospital. as a result of not tending to his diabetes, he may need an emergency amputation of his foot.
